2011.08.31 {scrub-a-dub-dub, Trey is in the duckie tub!}

All of my kids have loved the Mr. Duck tub and Trey is no exception.  He loves that he can now sit up in the tub and have the freedom to splash, pick up toys to chew, and bang on the soft sides of his tub.  My boy is sure growing fast!

2011.08.21 {Trey}

2 of Trey's favorite things to do now:  chew on toys & slober!  Luv u little guy!

2011.08.21 {Trista - the Baker}

On her first Library day at school, Trista found a Princess cook book full of adorable cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets.  She was so excited that she wanted to plan a party and have everything in the book!  I convinced her that she could pick on thing and we would bake it together on Sunday afternoon - I put aside my habit of trying to guide her to make it perfect and let her just CREATE.  Not only did I love to see her be creative, the best part of the process was when she asked if she could put a ring on the cake as well as a crown and she went to her room and came back and asked if she could put the soccer ring on her cake for Trace too - what a sweet sister!

2011.08.16 {1st Day of Preschool}

Trace started at his new preschool today.  He was so excited to go all morning - even to take his picture, but then he was very shy when we arrived.  His teachers said he warmed up quickly and made some new friends today!  Proud of you Trace-Man!

2011.08.15 {Fun at the Park}

I guess we have established a new tradition around here with the start of school.  After dropping Trista off for her first day, we headed to the park again this year to enjoy the sunshine and try not to miss her too much!  This year we joined up with our friends to play - Alec, Adan, & Sean.

2011.08.15 {1st Day of First Grade}

Another school year has started!  Even though the summer seemed way too short, I think we are all ready to be back on a schedule again.  Trista was excited to start 1st Grade - we enjoyed a girls day out on Sunday shopping for school clothes, finding new tennis shoes (and about 6 other pair of shoes), and eating at Olive Garden.  Monday morning, she woke up happy and excited and asked us NOT to walk her into her classroom and PLEASE could she ride the bus!  I had to tell her the first day was special and we were going to walk her in and pick her up just this once :)  We are so proud of her and thankful she enjoys school.  Here is to a great 1st Grade year!

2011.08.15 {Trey - 6 months old}

Little Trey - you are growing too fast!  You are six months old already and such a joyful baby!  We love having you in our lives and are so blessed by the happiness you share with us all.

At six months:
  • you are loving rice cereal twice a day
  • chewing on your toes
  • sitting up on your own - but once you start tipping over, down you go
  • you have had your first haircut
  • you are sleeping all night again (9:00 - 5:00 - yeah :)
  • you are so ticklish
  • giggles give you the hiccups
  • you still get stuck on your tummy and get mad after awhile because you can't get rolled back over
  • you like to sleep on your side
  • you are practicing saying "Mama"- which for you is sticking out your tongue, opening your mouth twice like you are mouthing the word with no sound - we will keep practicing :)
  • you weigh 17 lbs - which is 43 percentile in weight and 75 percentile in height
  • you have been such a good baby on all our road trips this summer
  • you love to snuggle your blanket over your face to fall asleep
  • you still have your blue eyes :) maybe they are going to stay
  • you loved the swing and i love those chubby thighs

2011.08.12 {Roller Skating}

On the last day of summer break, we decided to go to the Roller Rink and give skating a try.  It is something we have never done before so I was excited to see how the kids would do.  Well....we definitely need to go more so we can practice :)  Trista warmed up to it toward the end, but she fell hard a few times so she wanted to use me as her brace most of the time.  Trace did a good job once we got him in the beginner skates - but he liked to take breaks on the side.  The pics are not good quality, but you can see Trace, Alec & Adan doing the limbo (Alec won the limbo contest!)

 Oh, and this one I just had to throw in....I asked Trace if I could take his picture and he said "Yea, let me get ready"  And this was the pose he picked - I had to laugh - I think he is ready for a baseball card picture!
