I have been researching the idea the past few weeks and there is part of me that wants to jump in and get started and part of me that hesitates making a committment that I am sure to break - but I have been inspired. Project 365 / Project Life - can be what you make it, but in essence it is a challenge to document your life - daily - taking a picture a day and making a note of something significant or something not so significant. It can be a photography challenge to improve composition, practice setting the camera, or explore post processing. It can be a scrapbooking challenge to print your pictures and document a year in your life. For me, it has taken me a few weeks to define what I wanted my Project Life to be:
I want to be inspired by Project Life to recognize and capture the many blessings that define my life and that of my family and in the process study and explore my passion for photography.
I know that with a new baby expected in the coming weeks, I will fail to take a picture a day - but more importantly than the pictures, I hope this committment will change my perspective - recognizing how God has blessed my life and my family. Instead of dwelling on all the "to do" items on my many lists, I will sit down and play a game with my kids. Instead of getting upset they are goofing around, recognize their fun personalities and join in their gigles. Instead of cringing as they use Playdoh and constantly reminding them not to mix the colors, let them make a mess and encourage their creativity. Instead of "suriving" a day - finding JOY in everyday! That is what I hope comes from my Project Life 2011.
