2011.10.22 {Trey's 1st Tooth}

Just a glimpse at Trey's first tooth that has been causing us many restless nights :)

2011.10.17 {first fallen leaves}

Trista & Trace helped rake together some of the first leaves that have fallen in our yard to take Trey's 8 month pictures so after Trey's turn, they had the chance to run, jump, and play in the leaves.  I love how the enjoy playing together and get a kick out of these simple pleasures.

2011.10.16 {Trey - 8 months}

Trey - you are growing too fast, but it is so fun to see you discovering new things!  At 8 months old, you are starting to change from a baby into a little boy with such a sweet personality:
  • your 1st tooth just popped through on the date you turned 8 months old
  • your favorite snack is puffs - I think you could snack on them all day long - I love how they stick to your fingers and you keep smearing your hand across your face until you can get that puff into your mouth
  • you enjoy watching your brother and sister play around you
  • we have made up a few new nicknames in our house - Trista likes to call you "bubba", but I think "Trey Trey" is more  fun, Trace has become your "bro-bo", and Trista decided she likes "sassy-sis", but I think she is going to remain "sis" to both of you boys
  • you love eating finger foods - waffles & bananas at breakfast, grapes for lunch, and bread anytime.
  • you are days away from crawling - you are up on all fours and rocking away and you have figured out how to roll and pull your way all over the family room
  • you have started "dancing" when we sing your name (rocking your torso up and down)
  • you are going to be my only baby that has separation anxiety at this age - you definitely are a mama's boy right now (and I'm ok with that :)
  • you LOVE to be outside - you are instantly in a good mood when you get into that fresh air
  • you are so ticklish - and we love to hear you chuckle
  • yes, everything goes into your mouth - including the leaves although you found out they didn't taste very good

2011.10.15 {Trista is aging us}

We went out for lunch on Saturday after Trace's soccer game and there 2 TVs mounted up in the corners of the resturant that were turned off.  Trace asked why the TVs weren't on and Trista answered with "They don't work, they are old."  Makes sense, they were the big box type of TVs and they were covered in dust.  I thought that was so interesting that she realized that TVs are now flat and our kids think box TVs are so outdated, so I asked her to explain to Trace why she thought they are old.  Her response...."because they are from the 90s! That is SO old!"

2011.10.14 {fall}

Fall has finally arrived in Arkansas - a few trees are starting to turn and the cooler termps have just arrived.  We had one tree turn a beautiful yellow and drop it's leaves in 3 days.  I wanted to capture a few pics of it's pretty color.

2011.10.13 {Narder}

 Can you see what is hiding in my laundry?

Yep..it's Narder.  I found him napping here.  For a dog that doesn't want to jump off the bed anymore, he had no problem jumping into and back out of the basket for a little snooze.  I know the dogs are often overlooked these days, so it is nice to be reminded how much they are a part of our lives.

2011.10.05 {sleepy Trace}

One of the wonderful traits of my kiddos is that they can fall asleep almost anywhere at anytime if they are tired.  It makes it easier to run errands and extend play dates knowing they can sleep in the car or even in a Wal-Mart shopping cart. It can also be dangerous, as one night at Grandma Myers house I tried to keep him awake to take a quick bath and he was so tired that while the water was still running to fill up the tub, I told him to lay back and I'd wash his hair and he laid back and then rolled over and put his head on his arms with face submerged....asleep.  Tonight, Trace fell asleep during dinner because he didn't take a nap at school that day.

This picture reminded me of my favorite story of sleeping Trace from last summer when he was 3 years old.  Trista was at school and after lunch Trace asked to ride the Jeep in the backyard while I was folding laundry.  I had the windows open and was watching him drive around.  I noticed that he had driven up to the back fence where he had a good view of the green on #12 and he was stopped watching the golfers....or so I thought.  After about 10 minutes, he was still sitting there so I hollered out to him, thinking maybe he was stuck or the battery was low, but he didn't answer me.  I hollered again as I started walking out there and still no answer...panic set in and I started sprinting out to Trace yelling his name and I found him sitting in the Jeep asleep.  He hadn't driven up to the fence to watch the golfers...he had fallen asleep at the wheel and crashed into it.  I'm sure quite a few golfers got a good chuckle out of seeing Trace sleeping at the fence and probably wondered where in the world was his Mama!  We will be bringing up this story when he turns 16!
