Trista has already started thinking about what she wants to ask Santa for next Christmas. Trista asked for a pony last Christmas and Santa sure delivered - she has a 3 1/2 foot Fur-Real pony sitting in our living room that she really enjoys. But now that she is four, she insists she is going to ask Santa for a real pony next year. We have been having this conversation for the past few weeks:
Trista: I'm going to ask Santa for a REAL pony.
Me: Trista, Santa gave you a pony already.
Trista: No, Mom, a REAL pony.
Me: Why don't you ask Santa for something different this year.
Trista: No, I want a REAL pony to ride.
Me: Santa can't give you a real pony. A real pony needs a barn and a big pasture.
Trista: Then I'll ask Santa for a barn and pasture too.
Me: Santa can't carry those things in his sleigh.
Trista: Well, I'm still going to ask for a REAL pony.
Me: Trista, Santa is going to tell you no.
Trista: Why?
Me: Because we can't keep a horse at our house. You don't want Santa to tell you no. You better think of something else you can ask Santa for.
Trista: Ok Mom......I'll ask Santa for a Unicorn!
Oh Boy - Santa is going to have a big order to fill in 2009!
