Table was set and we were just waiting for the casserole to finish in the oven...I turn around to find Trey dishing out the salad on everyone's plate.....and yes, he is sitting in the middle of a counter height table to do it.

2012.10.15 {a few to remember}
Mission of the afternoon...they are actually working together
(well, Trista is being bossy and Trace is ok with it today)
Yes, the 3 Force girls were inspiring, but NO you may never race cars!
2012.10.07 {random}
Trey wouldn't get off of this ride at Chuckie-E-Cheese....I think there is some Operator in him!
I love how creative my kids become when they only have each other to play with!
2012.09.18 {a day in the life via instagram}
I have been using an app on my phone to take a lot of everyday simple moments and have had a lot of fun capturing those moments with a quick caption. I want to share more of them on here, but for now, here is a day in our life today....
Yes I gave in today! But those powder donuts let me finish my grocery list without worrying about a little magician that can escape all safety restraints in a shopping cart!
Ahhhh! Fall & a little me time!
Well, that only lasted 5 minutes - at least I enjoyed a half a cup!
fun with snack time
Trace's creation: a "sky sapper - biggest ever!"
Time to eat "marshmallow tower"
2012-.09.09 {trista's artwork}
In the spring of 1st grade, Trista participated in a district wide art project. All students 6th grade and under created an 8x8 piece of artwork symbolizing the core values of Sam Walton. Trista chose to represent RESPECT. The students then all placed their artwork on the high school football field and it was transformed into a mural that was put on the side of a building in downton Bentonville. We have looked for Trista's artwork before when we have been downtown, but we did not have her original to help remind us what to look for - well...I found it this weekend so we went up there Sunday night and found her place on the wall.....very cool!
Trista described her picture as having bubbles with examples of Respect in each one:
Trista described her picture as having bubbles with examples of Respect in each one:
- holding Mom's hand
- opening the door for a friend
- saying the pledge of alligience to the flag
- taking care of her brother Trey (he was crawling in this picture - it is not a dog :)
2012.09-.9 {sunday afternoon}
Last weekend we had a fun family Sunday afternoon - beautiful weather - no big projects - just wanted to hang out and have some fun - so Ryan got the kids 4 wheeler started and they enjoyed riding around for awhile. And just a disclaimer: I posted these knowing I may get a safety lecture....yes Dad, I know they should have on pants and tennis shoes....next time I promise! :)
2012.09.07 {charlotte's web}
Trista and I always have fun preparing for a costume day at her school - it is our chance to be a little creative and crafty together! For "dress like your favorite book character" day this year we came up with Charlotte's Web as her theme and she was a cute little Fern - accomponied by Charlotte and one of her special webs and her cute pig Wilbur. Trista painted, drew, and spun the web all by her design - I helped with the hot glue and the cutting. special memories
2012.08.21 {trace's first day of preschool}
Our Trace-Man recently turned 5 and is starting his final year of preschool before the big K! He has enjoyed being home all summer and was a little shy to return to school, but he was determined to "make me proud". We talked a lot about our expectations for him when I dropped him off on his first day - 1 kiss and 1 hug and then he was suppose to walk over and pick a toy to play. He did GREAT! I was so proud of him and then he melted my heart when I picked him up at the end of the day and the first thing he asked me is "I made you proud, right mom?" Yes you did Buddio - yes you always do!
Trace answered these questions the first week of school:
My favorite color is: green
My favorite food is: broccoli
My favorite song is: party on top top top of the world
My favorite movie is: Indiana Jones

Trace found a way to climb something!
We had to take some pictures of a few tricks:
2012.08.20 {Trista - 1st day of 2nd grade}
Can't believe my baby is starting 2nd grade already! Trista just amazes me with her love for school - she wasn't quite ready to give up the freedom of summer, but she was still excited to get back to school! She definitely doesn't take after her mom when it comes to first day jitters - nope, she was up, dressed and ready to go before I went up to get her on the first day. She is a confident, sweet, courageous girl and we couldn't be more proud of her.
I was only "allowed" 1 picture inside - she is still all smiles!
Had to post this one - we always take a pic of Adrian & Trista on the first day of school - the goofy pic won this year - but it is SO Adrian & Trista! Love those kids!
Seeing my girl after her 1st day - I really missed her! Love her!
2012.08.14 {Trey is 18 months old}
Trey-Trey is 18 months old and is turning into a little bubble of energy and fun! There are so many cute little things I want to remember about him as he is budding a little personality:
- how he crinkles his nose up when he is trying to be cute
- that he LOVES shredded cheese and it seems to be one of his favorite words
- he doesn't like to lay still to get dressed
- he LOVES to brush his teeth - another of his favorite words and the only body part he can point to
- he takes my phone holds it out in front of him - crinkles his nose - and says cheese like he is taking pictures
- he LOVES to wrestle his Bro-bo and his Daddy
- he prefers to be outside - ALL the time
- he enjoys riding in his Truck and scooting along on the big wheel
- he is such a sweet boy when it is time for a rest - he cuddles a few minutes then lays down in his crib without fussing
- he HAS to "dip-dip" his food if he sees any type of sauce while we are eating
- he is a monkey and likes to climb everything - but thankfully he has very good balance
- he LOVES to swing
- he hates to be strapped into a grocery cart
- he LOVES to take a shower - tells his brother to "beep-beep" so he can get in the water
- he has learned that when his brother and sister giggle at him - he should do it again because it must have been funny (oh are we in trouble!)
- he copies his brother - loves to run after him and try all the tricks Trace does
- he doesn't care if he is barefoot or has shoes on - but he has the stinkiest little feet in his sandals :)
- he is VERY stingy with his kisses - Mommy only gets one when I bribe him - but the only bribe that consistently works is the one to go play outside.
- he squats down and clasps his hands to check out something cool or to talk to you if he sees you squatting down to his level
- he has been getting 8 teeth all summer - 4 molars and 4 eye teeth - enough already
- he is still mama's boy and I'm ok with that - I have got him to learn to run up to me and give me a tight squeeze around my neck - LOVE it!
- he is trying to swing the bat left handed...we will see if Ryan gives in like he did with Trace
2012.07.05 {a conversation}
I overheard this conversation that was occurring in the backseat of the car today and it describes my kid's personalities perfectly:
Trista: "I am going to be a scientist, a dolphin trainer, and a veterinarian"
(characteristics of Trista - studious, adventurous, and nurturing)
Trace: "I am going to be a baseball player and a skateboard guy!"
(characteristics of Trace - baseball (is baseball a characteristic? because it is just part of who Trace is) and a little bit of wild!)

2012.05.14 {Trace and his girlfriend}
Trace painted a picture today and when he was finished he brought it over to me and said "Mom, will you email this to my girlfriend?"
2012.05.13 {mother's day}
I am blessed beyond measure and there is nothing I am more proud of than being Mommy to these three precious children. What amazed me today is to see and experience just how much they love me back :) I was treated to breakfast in bed - {blueberry pancakes - my favorite}, a decorated mantel complete with homemade cards, very few complaints about getting dressed in church clothes, and many hugs and kisses.
